Part One
How does one go about selecting the words for an affirmation? Is there a good time to use / repeat an affirmation? Should it be silent or spoken out loud? What is your ultimate goal?
If you describe yourself, would you use words like distracted, haunted, dissatisfied, at loose ends, disturbed, panicked, distressed, distraught, frenzied, obsessed, preyed upon, frustrated, jealous, critical, bothered, unfulfilled, fretful, displeased, grumpy?
If some of these words are issued from you what would be the source? Does your physical body tell you these things. Is the source your mind, that thing that you have conversations with? Or something deeper at your core, the you that has the conversation with your mind?
If your core is the source of these words or feelings, what can you do? Do you feel repeating to yourself a positive morning affirmation “I love myself” or repeating it as you drift off in slumber in the evenings, will change you to the point of having a different conversation with your mind?
When your mind conversation returns words like happy, content, fulfilled, accepting, satisfied, peaceful, neat, organized, balanced, pleased, calm, controlled, you will have made it!
Is there a process beyond the simple repetition of a phrase to achieve this level of self-happiness? Is it possible that this discussion so far has spoken around the fringe of the start of an effective process to get to the happy place. Can we name that core thing that has conversations with our minds?
Millenia of thinking and postulating about what this core may happen to be, has led some to define this core as the Soul or Spirit.
“Soul (Spirit): It is the Soul which makes a person a separate and distinct individual. The Spirit is the cause of his / her social being to come into existence. The individuals who know and understand the Spirit as the powerhouse of creativity in them, creates subtle waves of nobility, love, and harmony.”
If we were to acknowledge that the Spirit (Soul) is at our core, then how do we strengthen our connection to this nebulous thing. Would affirming “I AM THE MASTER OF MY SOUL.” be a starting place.
Words of affirmation
Examples:
Tied to strengthening our core spirit would be the affirmations:
- I am a Soul, possessed of channels of communication with the outer world.
- I am the Master of my Mind. Knowing this I am no longer afraid, ignorant, or uninformed.
- I am the Master of my Mental Habits
- I am the master over my Body, Mind, Consciousness, and Subconsciousness.
Part Two
Starts the journey into understanding the process of communication with the subconscious spirit.
